After his divorce from actress Sunwoo Eun Sook, announcer Yoo Young Jae, who was embroiled in various controversies, has been urgently admitted to a mental hospital.
On April 26, Yoo, accompanied by his younger brother, visited a mental hospital in the metropolitan area early in the day to begin the admission process due to severe symptoms of depression.
A close associate of Yoo said, “His younger brother, worried about him, visited Yoo’s home the day before and detected a severe situation, so he urgently took him to the hospital.”
He added, “I understand that Yoo immediately decided to be hospitalized for treatment due to a diagnosis that his extreme depression was at a dangerous level.”
As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that his younger brother found traces of Yoo searching for words implicating extreme choices like a “charcoal fire starter” and convinced him to seek treatment.
The close associate also said, “Yoo was greatly shocked and fell into a serious situation after going through a series of processes.”
He explained, “Yoo lost everything after being unilaterally attacked during the divorce process. He had a lot to say but chose to hold back his words, thinking that responding would only deepen the wounds on both sides. He has been refusing to eat or speak for the past two days.
Yoo Young Jae remarried actress Sunwoo Eun Sook in October 2022 but announced his divorce news on April 5, just a year and a half ago.
Two weeks after the divorce, on April 23, Sunwoo Eun Sook caused a significant stir by revealing, “I decided to divorce after learning that Yoo had sexually assaulted my older sister.”
Currently, it is reported that Sunwoo Eun Sook and her older sister are attending a psychiatric department due to panic disorder and are taking medication.
In response to the sexual assault allegations, Yoo refuted them in a YouTube live broadcast, saying, “They have framed me with a sexual assault charge that won’t disappear even if I die. If I die like this, the dirty sexual assault will end as a fact, so I ended up in a legal dispute.”
