Japanese actress Tomoko Inoue (44), known for her roles in numerous dramas and ventures into the Chinese entertainment scene, has shocked many with her recent disclosure.

In a revealing interview with foreign media outlet News Post Seven on the 23rd (local time), Inoue detailed her experiences of being propositioned for sexual relations by Chinese directors and producers. She exposed the prevalent sexual entertainment culture within the Chinese entertainment industry and highlighted instances of discrimination against Japanese people.

Inoue shared, “I received many sexual propositions from directors and producers. Of course, I did not accept.” She added, “One time, when I rejected a proposition during a drive, I was even abandoned on a deserted road.”

Inoue, who consistently refused such advances, confessed there were moments when she was tempted. “It happened when I was having dinner with a producer in Beijing. The producer whispered, ‘If you come to the hotel, I’ll cast you under better conditions.’ Thinking that I needed to have sex to survive in the Chinese entertainment industry, I went to the hotel,” she revealed.

Inoue continued, “When I arrived at the hotel room, I wavered and eventually ran away. Fortunately, the producer was naked and couldn’t chase after me.”

In the same interview, Inoue also disclosed her drama appearance fees. “As there are hardly any Japanese actors working in China, I received a fee of 400,000 yuan (approximately $62,000),” she said.

Inoue recalled her time in China, saying, “I heard comments from movie crews such as ‘Give back the Senkaku Islands’ and ‘Do you know about the Nanjing Massacre?'” She added, “After the Xi Jinping regime, there were restrictions on casting Japanese people. I even worked under Tomoko, without a surname, not to reveal my Japanese identity.”

Meanwhile, Inoue started her career as a magazine model before expanding to China.

Currently, she is mainly active in Japan.
