[TV Report= Reporter Kim Hyun-seo] BTS, suspected of having made stock manipulation and was involved in a pseudo-religion, has filed a lawsuit.
On May 2nd, Big Hit Music, BTS’s agency, announced follow-up information on legal action regarding the infringement of BTS’s rights’ through the fan community, Weverse.
The agency stated, “We clearly say that allegations such as stock manipulation marketing, concept plagiarism, rumors of connection to Dan World, and pseudo-religion suspicions that defame and slander the honor of BTS are false.”
Big Hit Music, which has decided that creating malicious rumors about the artist can no longer be overlooked, announced that it has appointed a separate law firm and will take strict action. “We have collected multiple posts that spread false information and defame the honor and submitted the first lawsuit to the investigative agency today (on May 2nd),” said Big Hit Music.
The lawsuit also includes posts that were organized and deleted and posts that blew up accounts, and the company announced that it plans to continue monitoring and gathering evidence for additional lawsuits.
Big Hit Music said, “We will take legal action in both civil and criminal terms with a principle of zero tolerance against malicious rumors that harm the artist’s reputation,” and “We plan to take strong action to the end without any agreement or leniency so that the perpetrators of the illegal act can be punished.”
Finally, Big Hit Music said, “We sincerely apologize to the fans for causing concern about this issue. We will take all measures to protect the artist’s rights.”
Recently, BTS was suspected in controversy over allegations of connection with a meditation group that was defined as a pseudo-religion and alleged illegal marketing seven years ago. In response, the agency issued an official position on the 28th of last month, stating, “All the raised suspicions are groundless.”
