BTS’s RM has showcased his artistic flair with his new release.
Two versions of teaser concept photos were unveiled, with his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, set to be released globally on May 24.
RM handpicked photographers to collaborate on these latest concept photos. He worked with his album production team to review the works of various artists. He personally reached out to the photographers whose style best aligned with the vision of his new album.
RM asked the photographers to interpret the album’s title and primary message, “Right Place, Wrong Person,” in their way. He shared his favorite landscapes with them to inspire new ideas and even brought his casual clothes to use as outfits for the shoot.
Thanks to the effort and communication between photographers to bring his vision to life, the concept photos captured the harmonious blend of each photographer’s unique point of view and RM’s unadorned, everyday self.
Takahiro Mizushima, who shot the second concept photo, which was released on May 3, said, “RM wanted to create the album with a joyful heart as if he was hanging out with friends. So I tried to create a feeling like he had returned to his boyhood, allowing him to flash an innocent smile.”
The final concept photo for Right Place, Wrong Person will be revealed on May 17. With the released photos shot in Seoul and Tokyo, respectively, curiosity is mounting about the third location of the upcoming photo release. There has been speculation about who will be the artist behind the final concept photo following Hong Kong’s renowned photographer Wing Shya, who shot the poster photo for director Wong Kar-wai’s film Happy Together, and Japan’s up-and-coming photographer Takahiro Mizushima.
RM’s new album, set to be released on May 24, deals with feeling like a stranger in the wrong place. It contains 11 alternative-genre songs boasting rich sounds, and RM demonstrates his artistic prowess by participating in the lyric writing for all the tracks.
Ahead of the album release, RM will release a pre-release track on May 10.
