Seventeen has set a new record for initial sales of their best album.

According to the album sales aggregation site, Hanteo Chart, on May 6, Seventeen’s best album, 17 IS RIGHT HERE, sold 2,967,937 copies in the first week (April 29 – May 5) after its release on April 29. This is the highest initial sales record for a K-pop best album, according to Hanteo Chart.

Following this, Seventeen added a new milestone in the history of K-pop, following their record for the highest initial sales of a K-pop album (5,091,887 copies) set with their 11th mini-album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN last year. Their latest album joined the ranks of double million sellers on the day of its release. Considering the characteristics of the best album, which collects popular hit songs, this achievement sets an unprecedented record, once again proving Seventeen is “the best group in K-pop.”

As for their global popularity, 17 IS RIGHT HERE topped Japan’s Oricon Daily Album Ranking for five consecutive days (April 30 – May 4) and took first place on the major local music site Line Music Top Album 100 Chart. In addition, the album went straight to 2nd place on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart immediately after its release and has consistently maintained a high ranking.

The title track of the best album, “MAESTRO,” ranked high on major South Korean music charts such as Melon, Genie, and Bugs and swept the top of the Top Song chart on iTunes in 32 countries/regions around the world, achieving 1st place on the Worldwide Song Chart. The new unit songs “LALALI,” “Spell,” and “Cheers to Youth” included in the best album have also been successful in entering the major charts at home and abroad and are receiving steady love.

Seventeen is continuing its encore tour at a super-sized stadium in Japan. They are scheduled to meet fans by hosting the SEVENTEEN TOUR FOLLOW AGAIN at Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka, Japan, on May 18-19 and at the Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa on May 25-26.
