Fans of Chinese actor Hu Lian Xin were shocked when a nude video of her was leaked online.
According to local media, China Times, on May 9th, a nude video of Hu was circulated online in the early hours of the day. The video, approximately 20 minutes long, led fans to believe an ex-boyfriend might have leaked it. The video’s authenticity has not yet been confirmed, and Hu has not made any statement.
Some viewers online have claimed it might be a deepfake, urging others to “respect the victim,” expressing concern about how easy it is to ruin a celebrity’s life, and asking people not to spread the video.
Previously, on May 8th, Hu released a behind-the-scenes video on the set of TELL NO ONE on the Chinese online video service iQIYI. In the video, she acted out a scene of being held captive. Along with the video, she added a caption saying, “Girls in the darkest times, all victims in despair, I hope you are rescued by the hand of justice.” Some fans responded with bitter irony, commenting on the unfortunate timing of the incident.
Hu Lian Xin debuted five years ago in the drama Dashing Youth. She has been hailed as a promising new-generation actor, starring in dramas such as Detective Chinatown 2, A Lifelong Journey, and Heart of a Genius.
However, as Hu is set to play the role of Tu Shan Rong Rong in the upcoming drama Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red-Moon Pact, some fans are worried that this incident might affect her future work.
