Japanese singer Gackt confessed that he feels mixed emotions following a donation he made.

With a heavy heart, Gackt shared a screenshot from a used car website with the caption, “This car is one I donated to a charity a while back. Seeing it being sold like this stirs up complex feelings,” on May 8th.

However, he acknowledged that “if the winning bidder wants to sell it, that’s their freedom.” Despite this, Gackt lamented, “The car is fully customized, from the engine to the interior and exterior. I spent 30 million yen (around $276,000) on customization alone.”

“Should I repurchase it at this price?” he mused, revealing his complicated feelings towards the car he donated. The car in the photo shared by Gackt was priced at 4,998,000 yen (approximately $45,980).

Gackt, who debuted in 1995, earned the title “Japan’s representative of visual rock.” He maintained a mysterious image by not revealing his real name but finally revealed it in 2017: Gakuto Oshiro.

Meanwhile, on April 20th, Gackt posted a picture of an apartment named La Maison Gackt on his social media account, expressing his disapproval. “My name was used without my consent for the name of an apartment. I protested to the building owner, asking them to refrain from using my name in this manner,” he wrote. This sparked divided reactions from viewers online, with some accusing him of overreacting and others agreeing that Gackt is not a common word and that the name was likely copied, given the identical spelling.

Gackt also made headlines for his relationship with Ayumi, a former K-pop girl group Sugar member. They continued their public romance after photos of their date were released in June 2012, but they broke up after two years.
