Known to enjoy her single status, Chinese actress Jingchu Zhang captivated fans’ attention by firmly stating she has no plans to marry.
On May 12th, China Daily reported that Zhang prefers to stay at home, showing indifference towards dating and marriage.
In a recent interview, Zhang confessed she has no thoughts of marriage. “I don’t think about marriage. I want to live in a luxury house without sexual desire or love. I want to grow old with the old things I’ve collected for my house,” she said, indicating her lack of interest in men. The old items she mentioned include works of art, books, and flower pots.
“I don’t pursue luxury and pleasure. The old things in my house are my treasures,” Zhang said, sharing her appreciation for the simple joys she finds at home. She added, “I want to become a useless person who guards the old things in my house all day long.”
Zhang, who confessed her love for old things, is known to have purchased a residence in the suburbs of Beijing in 2021. She shares her daily life on Weibo.
Zhang has showcased her excellent acting skills over her 22-year-long career, appearing in works by various renowned directors such as Tsui Hark and Gu Changwei. Three years into her debut, she won a special jury prize at the 55th Berlin Film Festival through the film Peacock in 2005.
