Hong Kong Influencer Recalls Being Drugged at Burning Sun Nightclub

TV Report Views

Hong Kong influencer Ling Cheng belatedly confessed she fell victim to a drug-dropping scheme during a past visit to the Burning Sun nightclub amid the renewed spotlight on the Burning Sun controversy following the recent BBC documentary.

On May 22, Cheng posted several photos she took on social media during her visit to the Burning Sun nightclub six years ago, revealing she experienced a bewildering incident.

The recent BBC documentary Burning Sun: The Women Who Blew the Whistle on K-Pop’s Secret Chat Room has reignited the “Burning Sun Gate” that rocked 2019. The documentary candidly portrayed the sexual offenses of Jung Joon Young, Seungri, and Choi Jong Hoon, who are commonly referred to as “Burning Sun members.”

Cheng recounted her experience, saying, “I lost consciousness after having a drink when I went to the Burning Sun nightclub with my ex-boyfriend.”

She revealed that she visited the Burning Sun nightclub in 2018 because a woman she knew was dating Seungri’s Hong Kong business partner. That night, Burning Sun was bustling with people as Seungri was the DJ, and she found it strange that many people were wearing black sunglasses and biting on pacifiers. She later learned from acquaintances that these behaviors were meant to hide unconscious symptoms such as eye twitching or biting the tongue after drug use.

Cheng confessed that she felt scared when she suddenly blacked out after drinking two glasses of champagne at the bar that day. She added that she got drunk unusually quickly despite not having consumed more alcohol than usual.

Fortunately, her friend and ex-boyfriend noticed something was off, immediately took her out of the club and reported it to the police. Recalling the incident, Cheng said it felt like her drink had been spiked, but fortunately, she did not suffer any further harm.

“I wanted to alert the public through my experience,” she said, explaining why she wrote the lengthy post.
