NewJeans, the K-pop girl group, is currently facing a sexual commodification controversy after collaborating with the game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).

Recently, controversy has emerged as online posts mocking members of NewJeans have surfaced. In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, their characters are depicted in swimsuits or revealing outfits, leading to ridicule and criticism.

On the 20th, Krafton and ADOR stated, “Recently, there have been cases where some users have created and shared inappropriate posts using NewJeans’ characters.”

Both companies conveyed that “this behavior does not align with both sides’ brand image and values, and it is causing discomfort to all fans.”
