Lee Jung Jae Admits Efforts to Live ‘Cutely’—A Glimpse Into His Personal Philosophy!

Recently, actor Lee Jung Jae revealed that he enjoys having different perspectives from his close friend and fellow actor Jung Woo Sung.

A video titled “Lee Jung Jae Likes Jung Woo Sung Because He’s Handsome, Lee Jung Jae Tries To Live Cute All the Time (Star Wars: The Acolyte, Squid Game)” was uploaded to GQ Korea’s YouTube channel on June 24.

Lee answers various questions in the video. When asked, “Do you think you’re cute?” he responded, “I’m trying to live cute as best I can.”

Regarding his close friend Jung, Lee shared, “I like that we can share different perspectives, that he can have good, opposing opinions.”

When asked “Is The Hourglass the peak of Lee Jung Jae’s career?” he replied, “It depends on the criteria. The Hourglass was a huge project that catapulted me into the public eye. It means a lot that I was able to work with Director Kim Jong Hak, wonderful veteran castmates, and cast by screenwriter Song Ji Na.”

Referring to Squid Game, he shared how grateful he was by saying, “Director Hwang Dong Hyuk chose me. I liked all of his work and wanted to work with him. Just when I wanted to play a protagonist, he offered me the role of Seong Gi Hun, a character with a good heart, whom I was very glad to portray.”

In response to the question, “How close do you think you’ve come to the image of yourself you wanted to be in the past?” he answered, “I don’t dream or manifest. I just do my best with what is given in front of me. I don’t plan for next year or structure a future in my 40s and 50s. Of course, there comes lethargic energy and anxiety when things don’t go as planned, but if I fulfill my duty by doing my best today, my colleagues who see my effort will offer me great roles in TV shows and movies. It’s part of my invisible process.”

When asked, “When do you feel the most relaxed or purely happy during the day?” he referenced his hobby of growing plants. In response to the question, “I heard you show Jung your plants first when he visits?” he replied, “Yes, it’s one of my few pleasures. The plants that survived the winter are growing well this year, and some trees are blossoming.”

Lee currently portrays a legendary Jedi in the Disney+ show, The Acolyte.
