Behind the Scenes: Squid Game Actors Continue Their Friendship Off-Screen!

Indian actor Anupam Tripathi and actress Jung Ho Yeon, who both starred in Netflix’s Squid Game, continue to share their close friendship.

Tripathi posted a photo on social media with Jung on June 24. Jung has a near-no-makeup look as she flashes a peace sign and a broad smile while Tripathi smiles in a suit.

With various congratulatory emojis, he added the caption “Happy birthday, my friend. Always smile, shine, and be blessed,” along with the photo.

The two actors met through Netflix’s Squid Game with Jung playing the role of Sae Byeok, and Tripathi portraying Ali, both delivering stellar performances. Having gained immense popularity and love worldwide, Squid Game became the highest-grossing series in Netlifx history.

Lee Jung Jae, who also starred in Squid Game, displayed his friendship with the two stars by watching episodes of variety shows that featured them. In October 2021, he posted on social media a photo of himself watching a TV screen with the caption, “My beloved colleagues.” The TV screen displayed Tripathi on MBC’s I Live Alone, and Jung Ho Yeon on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block.

Squid Game Season 2 entered production last July and garnered much attention after Lee was spotted with red hair at Incheon Airport. Fans are excited for the release of season 2 with new additions to the cast including Kang Ha Neul, Im Si Wan, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Park Gyu Young, and Choi Seung Hyun (T.O.P.), joining returning cast members Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Jun, and Gong Yoo.

The return of the globally loved Squid Game series is attracting attention, and fans were excited to learn that season 3 had also reportedly completed production.
