BTS’s Jin will visit France to carry the 2024 Paris Olympic Torch Relay. Jin’s participation in the torch relay is speculated to be due to BTS’s global popularity and consistent message of self-love.
The Olympic flame was lit in Greece on April 27th and arrived in France last month. The flame will pass through 60 regions in France before being lit at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony on July 26th, carried by over 10,000 runners.
Similarly, another BTS member, Jungkook, performed at a global event. Jungkook made headlines for performing at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup. Jungkook released his official “Dreamers” soundtrack at the opening ceremony.
Jungkook moved his fans by singing “Dreamers” during his military service. CNN Sport also selected Jungkook’s Qatar World Cup opening ceremony photo as one of the best photos of the 2022 World Cup.
Currently, all members of BTS are serving in the military except Jin. Jin was discharged last month and completed his military service. He announced that he would be active for the rest of the year to fill the gaps for BTS.
Recently, Jin said in Weverse, “I’m recording and shooting entertainment shows, and I’m accomplishing all the plans I made in the military.” He also hinted at a new song in a few months. He is preparing for a comeback, along with his appearance on the MBC entertainment program “I’m Glad If You Rest Well.”
The Paris Olympics will be held from the 26th to August 11th. 10,500 people from 206 countries will participate, and 329 games in 32 sports will be played.
