A person who claims to be part of Jennie’s staff has come forward to share their perspective amid the ongoing controversy surrounding her use of her vape.
On Wednesday, an anonymous post surfaced online from someone who claimed to have been at the scene.
The anonymous user went on to clarify the controversy, sharing, “We were in a waiting room for the Jacquemus fashion show. It was a non-smoking area. There was a window with a large terrace next to it, and it was open when asked if smoking was permitted.”
They continued to explain the scene where Jennie blows smoke towards a staff member’s face, “What Jennie used was a bubble stick sold at a convenience store. While the staff member was looking for a lip product, she took a puff, and the timing of the blow of smoke coincided. Jennie apologized profusely even after the fashion show ended, and the staff member consoled her, saying that it was okay because she was a smoker, too.”
The anonymous user stated the mishap occurred when the smoke was released from a harmless bubble stick at the wrong moment, causing the smoke to pass over the staff members’ heads. “Although I acknowledge that this was problematic, I won’t address it because I don’t think it has anything to do with her previous actions or her character,” they wrote.
Because it’s difficult to confirm that an actual staff member wrote this post, there is controversy surrounding the possibility that it was fabricated.
Jennie was criticized for being caught smoking a vape in her latest vlog.
Viewers were upset to see Jennie blowing smoke towards a staff member in front of her in an indoor space.
ODD ATELIER acknowledged the controversy and wrote, “Jennie is reflecting on her actions of smoking indoors and causing harm to other staff members. We have reached out directly to the staff at the scene to apologize.”
Many are still angered by Jennie blowing smoke toward a staff member, which has caused other past controversies to reemerge, such as allegations of mistreating servers at a tripe restaurant.
