On July 22, BTS’s official YouTube channel released a video called “Jimin, ‘MUSE’ Jacket Shoot Sketch,” revealing some exclusive details about Jimin’s latest solo album, released during his military service. He hopes that any misconceptions about his album will be cleared up and that fans will enjoy it.
Jimin appeared in the video during the photo shoot for his upcoming album MUSE, which was held in front of blue flowers.
“I’m lucky to be working with such amazing and special people on this project,” Jimin shared, recalling that the team had a great time creating “Smeraldo.” “I remember wanting to communicate the theme of ‘Unexpressed Sincerity’ back then,” he said.
“I wanted to bring back the vibe from ‘Smeraldo’ to convey ‘Unexpressed Sincerity’ with a band. I incorporated many band-like elements and shot in a location reminiscent of blue Smeraldo flowers,” he continued, sharing the story behind his concept.
Jimin heightened the romantic vibe with his light brown hair and a clean-cut suit, looking quite dapper.
“I decided to bleach my hair for the first time in a while for this album. I have had black hair for two years and wanted to try something new. During ‘FAKE LOVE,’ I had black hair with orange highlights, but this time, I opted for bright brown hair with a dark highlight,” he shared, walking fans through his style transformation.
Released on Friday, MUSE is Jimin’s second solo album featuring seven tracks. “The last track on the album is a fan song. I wrote a letter to express what I wanted to say to you all and turned it into a song,” he shared, conveying his special affection for his fans.
“This project is a new challenge compared to what I’ve done before, allowing me to express myself in a fun way through photos and a different kind of sound, making the journey of creating this project more enjoyable,” he added. “I’m excited how everyone will react. I hope you enjoy this album and clear up any misunderstandings.”
Jimin is currently serving in the Army’s 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, and he will be discharged on June 11, 2025.
