BLACKPINK’s Lisa is gearing up for a comeback amidst controversy surrounding allegations of plagiarism.
Yesterday afternoon, LLoud Company announced on its official website that Lisa’s new song, “NEW WOMAN,” will be released on the 16th at 9 AM Korean time and will debut across various online music platforms.
The single features Rosalía, known for her close friendship with Lisa. Fans eagerly anticipate her new single, expecting the collaboration to bring dynamic synergy to the track.
Lisa returns just two months after dropping her single “ROCKSTAR” in June.
“ROCKSTAR” made a strong debut, landing at No. 8 on the Spotify Global Chart and entering the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 70 upon its release. It also reached No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200 weekly chart and topped the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, marking a significant career milestone for Lisa.
However, the music video for “ROCKSTAR” has come under fire for alleged plagiarism.
Gabriel Moses, director of rapper Travis Scott’s “FE!N” music video, recently took to his channel to highlight similarities between Lisa’s “ROCKSTAR” and “FE!N.” Moses pointed out specific scenes that sparked discussions about potential artistic parallels between the two visuals.
Moses specifically referenced a scene in “FE!N” featuring children in white attire walking past the camera, alleging a similar scene in Lisa’s “ROCKSTAR.” He provided comparative images to support his claim.
Despite turning down proposals from Lisa’s production team, he drew inspiration from “FE!N” for elements of the “ROCKSTAR” video.
Moses asked Lisa’s team to clarify the allegations by the end of July, but they have not responded.
Meanwhile, Lisa has recently been romantically linked with the heir to the Louis Vuitton conglomerate. The pair have been seen together publicly, attending official events and openly displaying affection.
