T.O.P, a former member of BIGBANG, recently posted a friendly photo with actor Park Sung Hoon, who is set to appear in Season 2 of Squid Game.

On the 9th, T.O.P posted a photo with the caption, “As expected from our great actor Sung Hoon! His performance in the play Trigger was explosive.”

The photo captures T.O.P and Park Sung Hoon posing together after the play.

On performance day, T.O.P attended casually in a boxy T-shirt and a cap. He notably drew attention by gifting Park Sung Hoon a bottle of wine from his own brand, making for a thoughtful gesture.

Park Sung Hoon responded warmly, holding the wine bottle and making a cute hand-heart gesture.

Both will appear together in Season 2 of the Netflix original series Squid Game, which premieres on December 26.

Season 2 will feature returning stars Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Gong Yoo, Wi Ha Joon, as well as new cast members Im Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Park Kyu Young, Jo Yu Ri, Kang Ae Sim, Lee David, Lee Jin Wook, T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun), Roh Jae Won, Won Ji An, Kim Si Eun, and Oh Dal Su.

However, Squid Game 2 has faced controversy, particularly regarding T.O.P’s casting. He is under scrutiny due to a past incident in October 2016, when he was tried for marijuana use during his military duties.

Following his conviction, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years, in July 2017.

Following this controversy, T.O.P left BIGBANG and, in 2019, hinted at retiring from the entertainment industry. In response to a comment suggesting he should “stay out of the spotlight and reflect,” he replied, “I have no intention of returning.”

In February 2020, during a live stream, T.O.P announced his retirement, stating, “I’m always sorry to my fans. I won’t be making a comeback in Korea. I don’t want to make a comeback at all.” Despite this declaration, his casting in Squid Game Season 2 has sparked criticism and backlash.

Season 1 of Squid Game achieved global acclaim, recording the most viewing hours in Netflix history. Director Hwang Dong Hyuk won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing, and actor Lee Jung Jae received the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor.
