Big Bang recently celebrated the 18th anniversary of its debut, with members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung marking the milestone. Former member T.O.P, however, has been focused on promoting his wine brand.

G-Dragon shared the cover of Big Bang’s digital single “Still Life,” released in April 2022, and the hashtag “bigbang18thanniversary.” He also posted photos of Taeyang and Daesung.

Taeyang celebrated the anniversary by posting a photo of a tower made of yellow hearts topped with a crown emoji. Daesung showed his support by re-sharing G-Dragon’s post and extending his congratulations.

In contrast, T.O.P has not commented on Big Bang’s anniversary. He continues to focus on promoting his wine brand.

Big Bang was formed on August 19, 2006, as a five-member group consisting of G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, T.O.P, and Seungri. They made their official debut at the YG Family’s 10th-anniversary concert and released their self-titled album, Big Bang, on August 29 of the same year. With hit songs like “Lies,” “Haru Haru,” “Sunset Glow,” and “Fantastic Baby,” Big Bang quickly established themselves as a leading group in the music industry.

Several controversies have marred the group’s long career. In 2017, T.O.P faced public backlash after it was revealed that he had used marijuana while serving as a conscripted police officer. He was admitted to the charges, sentenced to 10 months in prison, and suspended for two years. He was deemed unsuitable for continued military police service and completed his duty as a social service worker. Following these events, T.O.P ended his contract with YG Entertainment and left Big Bang.

In 2019, Seungri became embroiled in the Burning Sun scandal and subsequently announced his departure from Big Bang and retirement from the entertainment industry. He was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison on nine charges, including habitual gambling, prostitution, procuring prostitution, violating laws related to sexual violence, foreign exchange regulations, food hygiene laws, embezzlement, and inciting assault.

After completing his prison sentence and being released in February of last year, Seungri continued to make headlines with controversies ranging from alleged infidelity to club sightings. Recently, there were rumors he would attend an event called Burning Sun Surabaya in Indonesia. However, his team swiftly denied these reports, calling them completely false and putting the matter to rest.

Currently, Big Bang operates as a trio. The remaining members continue to showcase their strong bond by supporting each other’s solo activities.
