The members of BTS are currently navigating very different paths. Jin, who completed his military service in June, actively participates in various variety shows. In contrast, Suga is under investigation by the police for allegations related to riding an electric scooter after consuming alcohol.
In the 19th episode of MBC’s Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island, Jin appeared alongside B1A4’s Sandeul, taking on the role of a laborer. After just one day off following his military discharge, Jin was humorously told by Ahn Jung Hwan, “That’s not really a break; you’ll end up working even harder,” which elicited laughter from the audience.
During his labor, Jin prepared and served his favorite dish, mule, to the guests. The dish received high praise, and Chef Lee Yeon Bok was so impressed that he even proposed a business partnership with Jin, lauding the quality of the meal.
Jin has remained active and engaged with his fans following his discharge. He met with fans the day after his release through a Hug Meeting event and continues to captivate audiences with his self-produced variety show, Run, Jin.
Meanwhile, Suga’s post-discharge period has been overshadowed by significant criticism. On the 6th, Suga was caught riding an electric scooter after drinking alcohol in Yongsan, Seoul. Suga’s team initially stated in a press release that he was riding an electric kickboard. However, he was later confirmed riding an electric scooter, which sparked widespread criticism.
Further controversy emerged when it was revealed that Suga’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.227%, despite his claim of having “just had a beer.” This level is the highest recorded among idols involved in drunk driving cases.
The police are currently working to schedule Suga’s summons, which is expected to be finalized this week. The investigation will follow standard procedures applied to other suspects. New allegations have surfaced, including claims that Suga’s electric scooter lacked a license plate and was not covered by mandatory insurance, adding to the ongoing controversy.
The scandal has also raised concerns about Suga’s performance during his social service training. Reports suggest that he slept through most of his service training. An individual who attended the training with Suga claimed, “Suga did not participate in any of the classes during the four-night, five-day period. The instructor even felt it was so extreme that they issued a warning.”
The situation has caused a rift within the BTS fandom, ARMY. Fans are divided, with some calling for Suga’s departure and others opposing this view. This has led to ongoing disputes and heightened controversy within the fan community.
