Following BTS’ Suga, NCT’s Taeil is under controversy, leaving their fanbases deeply concerned.
On Wednesday, SM Entertainment announced that Taeil was accused in a criminal case related to sexual misconduct.
SM Entertainment acknowledged the severity of the situation while reviewing the details related to the case and concluded that Taeil would be withdrawn from team activities.
After discussing this with Taeil, he has since left the group and has fully cooperated with the police investigation.
Reports indicate that the Seoul Bangbae Police Station received a report in June regarding sexual misconduct allegations against Taeil. Following the news, speculation arose that Taeyong might have committed offenses against a same-sex minor, but authorities refuted the claims. The complainant is also reportedly an adult woman.
On August 6, Suga was caught by police after falling off an electric scooter while riding it under the influence in the Yongsan district of Seoul. A breathalyzer test revealed his blood alcohol concentration was 0.227%, which is above the legal limit for driving.
After news of the DUI surfaced, Suga and his agency, Big Hit Music, stated that Suga was caught while riding an “electric kickboard” but later confirmed he was on an e-scooter. This sparked controversy over downplaying his incident. The agency responded with a sec
and a statement clarifying that there was no intention to minimize the situation.
Suga appeared at the Seoul Yongsan Police Station on August 23 and underwent approximately three hours of questioning regarding the DUI allegations. In a handwritten apology, he wrote, “I forgot the responsibility of acting in a way that befits the love I have received and made a severe mistake. ” Suga is expected to be sent to the prosecution as early as this week.
