Singer and actress Uhm Jung Hwa met popular British musician Olivia Dean as a guest in her latest YouTube video, “Umaizing Date.”
Olivia Dean, a musician from the UK, gained global recognition as BBC Music’s Introducing Artist of the Year for 2023.
She gained significant recognition in Korea after her performance at Coachella and endorsements from artists like BTS’s V, BLACKPINK’s Rosé, and NewJeans’ Hanni.
Uhm Jung Hwa, who previously expressed her love for Olivia through the TV show Dancing Queens on the Road, shared her excitement, saying, “Olivia proposed to meet with me on her first visit to Korea. I think it will be fun and exciting.”
When Uhm Jung Hwa met Olivia, she said, “I’m so happy to meet you,” sharing a warm embrace. Olivia expressed her feelings about her first visit, saying, “It feels like I’m dreaming. Everyone is so nice. I don’t know what’s happening. Aside from the heat, I’m having the best time.”
“I don’t want to leave Korea. I want to stay here. I think I’ve fallen in love with Korea. I’ll probably come back next year for a show,” she added.
Uhm Jung Hwa praised Olivia’s beautiful voice, “I fell in love with your singing as soon as I heard it.” Olivia responded, “Thank you. I love singing.”
Olivia shared her thoughts on successfully wrapping up her first showcase in Korea on August 12, saying, “I felt loved. I didn’t expect so many people to come. It was truly special. I thought only a few people would show up, but there were so many.”
She expressed that the culture of Korean fans singing out loud together was “really special,” and she was happy to experience it.
