BLACKPINK’s Jennie plans to live an anonymous life through the variety show My Name is Gabriel, where she will take a break from the life of a star to experience something new. According to industry reports, Jennie completed filming for JTBC’s My Name is Gabriel, and her episodes will air from September 7 to October 4.
Jennie’s rumored involvement with the upcoming variety show has been a hot topic, with reports suggesting her participation began in March. However, her team has denied these claims. Producer Kim Tae Ho, who recently unveiled the casting lineup featuring Park Bo Gum and Ji Chang Wook, reportedly extended an invitation to Jennie.
Earlier this year, Jennie demonstrated her variety show prowess on tvN’s Apartment 404. The show follows six residents—Yoo Jae Suk, Cha Tae Hyun, Oh Nara, Yang Se Chan, Jennie, and Lee Jeong Ha—as they explore strange happenings in an apartment setting. Jennie was enthusiastic, stating, “Since this is my first variety show in a while, I think it will be a great gift for my fans.”
According to insiders, Jennie had been contemplating her participation in variety shows. Reports suggest she felt pressure from consecutive solo variety activities before group promotions. She has found some relief with BLACKPINK’s world tour scheduled for 2025. Fans were excited after her agency shared a video announcing BLACKPINK’s comeback and world tour in 2025.
