EXID member Hani has postponed her wedding to boyfriend Yang Jae Woong, initially scheduled for September.
According to Sports Kyunghyang, Yang Jae Woong’s representatives confirmed on September 3 that the wedding had been delayed. The decision to postpone the event came after the couple mutually agreed.
In addition to the wedding delay, Yang Jae Woong suspended operations on his YouTube channel, “YangBro,” which he ran with his older brother, Yang Jae Jin.
The postponement follows a severe issue involving Yang Jae Woong’s role as director of a psychiatric hospital in Bucheon. Recent reports revealed that a woman in her 30s died 17 days after being admitted to the hospital in May. She had complained of severe abdominal pain and difficulties with bowel movements the day before her death. Her family has filed a lawsuit against six medical staff members at the hospital, accusing them of negligent homicide and professional negligence.
In response, Yang Jae Woong expressed his profound sorrow through his agency, Mystic Story. “I cannot hide my devastation regarding the incident that occurred during the hospitalization process. I sincerely apologize to the deceased and the grieving family,” he said.
The situation drew additional criticism when it was revealed that Yang Jae Woong announced his wedding plans shortly after the patient’s death. Hani, who is publicly engaged to Yang Jae Woong, has faced increased media scrutiny.
Hani’s agency, Sublime, has declined to comment on the controversy, and Hani herself has remained notably silent and inactive.
