Director Shin Woo Seok of Dolphiners Films has drawn significant attention by deleting all videos from channels like Ban Heesoo’s, sparking strong reactions from ADOR.
Shin Woo Seok stated, “Today, I reconfirmed the agreement regarding the upload of the director’s cut. The three companies involved agreed to release the director’s cut on the Dolphiners Films channel for the fans.” He accused ADOR’s current management of falsely claiming that Dolphiners Films posted the director’s cut without permission and criticized ADOR’s actions as “disregarding industry norms and betraying basic business integrity.”
The day prior, Dolphiners Films attracted notice by removing all videos related to Ban Heesoo and NewJeans. In response, Shin commented, “ADOR’s policies have changed with the new management. Due to ADOR’s deletion request, we can now not release any NewJeans music videos or related content that Dolphiners Films had planned to upload.”
ADOR later clarified, “We only requested that Dolphiners Films stop posting the director’s cut video. We did not demand the deletion or suspension of all videos related to Ban Heesoo or NewJeans, and our channel management policies remain changed.”
Shin Woo Seok countered, “ADOR requested the deletion of videos from third-party channels, claiming that only official accounts could host content with ADOR-owned copyrights and likeness rights. After making an abrupt request on Sunday evening, they threatened to send a formal notice and charge double the service fee if the videos were not removed by Monday morning. Now, they are saying something completely different. Could they only discover Ban Heesoo’s channel after the deleted videos?”
He added, “Which director would destroy their work? I had no reason to do that. Ban Heesoo’s channel was an extension of my work, ‘Ditto,’ created voluntarily for fans without compensation. Now they claim everything was deleted for no apparent reason?”
Shin Woo Seok criticized ADOR, saying, “Despite our compliance with ADOR’s unfair demands, which contradict the original agreements, they have accused us of contract violations and spreading false information. I’m unsure if this is due to my refusal to work on a HYBE music video or something else, but they shouldn’t distort the truth with questionable media tactics.”
Meanwhile, after dismissing Min Hee Jin, ADOR recently appointed Kim Joo Young as the new CEO. Min Hee Jin has strongly opposed the dismissal, calling it “unilateral,” and members of NewJeans have also expressed their frustration and disappointment.
