In the upcoming drama Monthly Boyfriend, Korean actor Seo In Guk will star alongside BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, who is also making waves as an actress. The series will explore a unique concept where viewers subscribe to a virtual boyfriend, with the romance between these virtual characters extending into real life.

According to an exclusive report by Ilgan Sports, See In Gun has been confirmed as the male lead in Monthly Boyfriend. The drama’s innovative premise promises to deliver a fresh take on romantic comedy.

The project is directed by Kim Jung Sik, known for his work on Work Later, Drink Now, Strong Girl Nam Soon, and is currently airing No Gain No Love on tvN. Anticipation is high for this new romantic comedy, which is expected to make a significant impact.

Fans are particularly excited about Jisoo taking on the female lead role. With her massive global fanbase and Seo In Guk’s rising popularity from his music video for K. Will’s “Please Don’t” and the 2021 drama Doom at Your Service, there is considerable buzz around the chemistry between the two stars.

Jisoo made her acting debut with the drama Snowdrop and has since expanded her acting career with roles in films like Dr. Cheon And The Lost Talisman and Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. She recently continued to build her acting portfolio with a role in the movie Newtopia, where she starred alongside Park Jung Min.

Seo In Guk has built a successful acting career since his debut as a singer in 2009. He gained recognition with a supporting role in the KBS drama Love Rain in 2012. His portrayal of the lead character Yoon Yoon Jae in tvN’s Reply 1997 was acclaimed for his engaging appearance and strong acting skills, perfectly matching the show’s tone.

With Jisoo’s substantial global following and Seo In Guk’s rising star power, Monthly Boyfriend is set to attract significant attention both in Korea and internationally.
