Korean singer Kim Jong Kook recently revealed a basketball signed by NBA legend Kobe Bryant. A video titled “Do Not Watch Ji Ye Eun…(Feat. Kang Hoon, Haha, Shori)” was uploaded to his YouTube channel, Gym Jong Kook, yesterday.
In the video, Kim Jong Kook shared, “I’m feeling tired because I had to film everything in a rush for an upcoming performance in the U.S. I left at 6 a.m., took a quick one-hour nap, and then brainstormed ideas for Gym Jong Kook since Kang Hoon has a new drama coming out.”
He expressed his admiration and noted, “Kang Hoon used to be a basketball player. I really can’t play basketball and have hardly ever tried, so I thought it might be fun to learn from him, as he is a pro.” He pointed out that Kang Hoon excels in this sport, adding, “We usually see him playing soccer and looking a bit silly, but I think he’ll show us something impressive.”
Kim Jong Kook unveiled the signed basketball, causing a stir among those present, with comments like, “What are you doing bringing that?” He remarked, “It seems a bit faded compared to when I first got the autograph. I had the chance to meet Kobe Bryant once, and he welcomed me warmly.” He mentioned that their conversation mostly revolved around Kobe and Los Angeles.
Later, Kim Jong Kook met with Shorry and Kang Hoon. Upon seeing the signed basketball, Shorry expressed disbelief, asking, “Who got this for you?” Both Shorry and Kang Hoon urged him to keep it safe, saying, “You should keep it in a case. Never bounce it. Keep it out of sunlight.” Kim Jong Kook replied, “I think I’ve just left it on my balcony for about seven years.” When Haha joined the group and saw the signed ball, he was shocked, jokingly pretending to slap his own cheek as he exclaimed, “You can’t treat it like that!” He added, “This belongs in a museum. Please give it to me; I promise to take care of it!”
