Actor Song Il Gook recently expressed his desire for twin daughters while sharing his dreams of expanding his family. He is already the proud father of triplets with his wife, who works as a judge.

On Sunday, he appeared as a special guest on SBS’s My Little Old Boy, where he opened up about his married life and showcased his sitcom-like daily routine with his triplets.

Song Il-gook, known for his dynamic acting and charm as the Dad of Triplets, received an enthusiastic welcome from the show’s cast.

As he greeted each member with a handshake, he shared his long-standing connection with Kim Seung Soo’s mother, reminiscing about their time together on the drama Jumong. He also warmly interacted with Jung Young Joo’s mother, saying, “I’m a friend of Young Joo,” fostering a friendly atmosphere.

Shin Dong Yup, upon seeing this, joked, “It looks like he’ll be running for office soon.”

As he prepares for the upcoming musical Annie in October, Song Il Gook, who has lost 8 kg (about 17.6 pounds), laughed as he admitted, “I gained 1 kg (about 2.2 pounds) during the Chuseok holiday.”

With triplets Daehan, Minguk, and Manse under his care, Song Il Gook, affectionately called the Triplet Dad, shared, “The kids are in 6th grade now, and Minguk is already 177 cm (5 feet 10 inches) tall. My wife is 172 cm (5 feet 8 inches), and he’s the shortest in our house.” He highlighted the impressive growth of his triplets.

In response, Seo Jang Hoon remarked, “I was 176 cm (5 feet 9 inches) in elementary school. He’s taller than I was,” to which Song Il Gook reacted with surprise.

He continued, “I measured my feet yesterday, and the kids’ feet are bigger than mine at 285 mm (11.2 inches). My height is exactly 185 cm (6 feet 1 inch),” adding a humorous anecdote.

Seo Jang Hoon then said, “Just to ease your worries, my feet were 270 mm (270 mm) in elementary school,” prompting Song Il Gook to exclaim, “No way!” eliciting laughter from everyone.

Song Il Gook also addressed the question of whether the triplets’ height is due to genetics or their appetite, saying, “Exactly. When we go to a sushi conveyor belt restaurant, they can eat up to 100 plates. They even finish a medium pizza all by themselves,” once again surprising the Movenjers.

Song Il Gook shared his love story with his judge wife, revealing that he used location-tracking flirting to win her over. He explained, “From her perspective, being a celebrity might have created some biases. At that time, we didn’t have smartphones, but there was a feature for sharing our locations, so I suggested we try that.”

He added, “One morning, I got a notification that the location tracking had been activated, but my wife didn’t know about it. The alerts came every 30 minutes. That’s when I realized she liked me. It feels like we were meant to be together; we are really different, but we complement each other well,” he said with a smile.

Song Il Gook also discussed his marital disagreements, noting, “We usually speak to each other formally, and when something is bothering us, we use even more honorifics, which prevents our voices from getting raised.” He continued, “Given our professions, I know I can never logically win an argument with her.”

He expressed his desire for late-born daughters, sharing, “My wish is to have twin daughters. I’ve even chosen the names Uri and Nara. However, my wife had such a difficult time during childbirth that my mother-in-law said, ‘I can’t let my daughter go through this again.'”
