Is AOA Really Done? Shin Hyejeong Shares the Inside Scoop

Former AOA member Shin Hye Jeong recently opened up about behind-the-scenes conflicts within the group during her appearance on Wednesday’s episode of the “Taks Patch” segment of the YouTube channel hosted by Tak Jae Hoon.

Shin Hye Jeong, who debuted with the girl group AOA in 2012 and is now pursuing an acting career, stated, “We haven’t officially disbanded yet. While nothing is clearly defined, we are now supporting each other’s individual lives.” She added, “It’s not that we’ve scattered after concluding.”

Addressing Choa’s earlier remark on No Back Tak Jae Hoon, where she said, “I am the most pitiful person in AOA,” Shin Hye Jeong dismissed it, saying, “That’s not true. She is pursuing her dreams and doing well. I’ve never considered her pitiful because she follows her own path.”

AOA, a girl group formed by FNC Entertainment, gained popularity with hits like “Miniskirt,” “Like a Cat,” and “Short Hair.” However, the group faced significant turmoil when rumors of discord between members Shin Ji Min and Kwon Min Ah emerged, ultimately leading to disbandment.

During the interview, when asked, “Who had the worst relationship?” Shin Hye Jeong replied, “It’s nobody’s fault,” adding, “I don’t keep in touch with anyone now. We can see what everyone is doing in real time with social media, so we already know everything.”

As for the possibility of an AOA reunion, she expressed, “I would love to see that happen,” but noted, “I haven’t been in touch with the members, so I don’t know if there are any plans. We don’t even have a group chat.” When pressed about whether they reconciled, she said, “Not yet.”

In the meantime, Shin Hye Jeong, who has transitioned into acting after AOA’s activities, is set to appear in the upcoming project The Most Painful Kiss. She explained, “In the story, the main character can absorb their partner’s negative qualities by kissing while holding a bead. However, I haven’t seen the filming scenes myself, so I’ll have to watch it in the video,” adding, “My kissing scene is just a regular kiss without the bead.”
