As celebrities’ positive influence becomes increasingly recognized, they are spreading warmth during the chilly season. While Stars receive significant attention and admiration from the public, many go beyond just enjoying their fame; they give back and serve as inspiring role models.

Recently, actress Kim Yoo Jung made headlines by donating a total of 100 million won (approximately $74,100) to the Elderly Support Center and the Child Fund Korea, allocating 50 million won (about $37,000) to each organization. Notably, she personally selected the recipients of her donations without informing her agency.

Earlier this year, on her birthday, Kim Yoo Jung donated 30 million won (approximately $22,230) to support children at risk of becoming crime victims. In February, she also contributed 100 million won to the Korea Childhood Cancer Foundation, aiding children with pediatric cancer and leukemia, consistently demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact.

In September, EXO’s Baekhyun garnered attention for his charitable efforts, donating 50 million won to the National Museum of Korea Foundation for the repatriation of cultural heritage. Although he did not publicly announce his donation, his generosity was revealed when he attended the foundation’s 50th anniversary celebration, held at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul.

Singer Lee Chan Won also contributed the 1 million won (approximately $740) prize at the Good Star September King of Kings competition to support children with pediatric cancer, leukemia, and rare diseases. With this donation, he has accumulated 57.87 million won (around $42,900) through the Good Star platform, encouraging charitable giving among celebrities. Fellow singer Im Young Woong has also reached a cumulative donation of 84.4 million won (approximately $62,500) through the same initiative.

Previously, Son Ye Jin donated 100 million won through the Daegu Community Chest to support low-income households in preventing and treating COVID-19. Together with Hyun Bin, she also contributed 200 million won (about $148,100) to aid those affected by wildfires in Gyeongbuk Uljin and Gangwon Sancheong. Additionally, she has provided scholarships for children with disabilities and patients suffering from rare diseases, donating 40 million won (around $29,600) proceeds from a charity bazaar, reflecting her commitment to positive influence.

Meanwhile, singer Kim Jang Hoon has surpassed a total donation of 20 billion won (approximately $15 million), while actress Kim Ji Eun made headlines last month by donating 50 million won to firefighters. Additionally, actress Lee Sung Kyung donated 100 million won to Dankook University Hospital in 2023, and comedian Moon Se Yoon contributed 30 million (approximately $22,200) to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation in 2021.
