Seohyun of Girls’ Generation recently praised Sooyoung’s debut single in Japan. The YouTube channel The Sootory released a video yesterday titled “Next Senior, Please: Seohyun SBN Says, ‘This Album is a Masterpiece.'”
During the video, Sooyoung shared her debut single with Seohyun. Seohyun expressed her admiration as she listened, saying, “I almost cried. I can really feel how much effort you put into this.” Sooyoung, visibly emotional, responded, “I worked hard.” Seohyun continued, “The quality is incredible, even just listening to it. Don’t you think there’s a different vibe to Girls’ Generation’s Japanese songs compared to the Korean ones? This feels like a truly evolved solo artist. I was really surprised.”
Reflecting on their long friendship, Seohyun noted, “You were always talented, but now you bring a fresh feeling to it. We haven’t seen each other in 15 to 17 years, and while I remember how you were back then, I was surprised by the vocal quality I hadn’t heard before. I can really feel how hard you’ve worked. I almost cried, but I held back, thinking, ‘This isn’t the right vibe.'” Her heartfelt words deeply moved Sooyoung.
Sooyoung remarked with a laugh, “But why is everyone crying? Tiffany cried too. It was worth all the hard work. I even got compliments from our youngest member!” Seohyun responded enthusiastically, “You should definitely do a Korean version as well. It would be a shame to keep it exclusive to Japan. We need to film another music video; is that possible?” She praised the single, declaring, “It feels like a masterpiece.” Sooyoung replied, “With such high praise, isn’t the expectation getting a bit too high?” Seohyun added, “What you’ve done really comes through in the music. This isn’t just any music,” before giving Sooyoung a warm hug.
