In Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born, Kim Tae Ri sparked controversy by neglecting her role as the candlestick and opting for an improvised performance. In Sunday’s episode of JTBC’s Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born, viewers watched Jeong Nyeon (played by Kim Tae Ri) struggle on stage during the Jamyeonggo performance, revealing her limitations.

On that day, Yeong Seo (played by Shin Ye Eun) was inspired by Jeong Nyeon’s declaration, “Someday, I might be right in front of you,” which motivated her to focus intensely on rehearsing for the Jamyeonggo performance.

In a later conversation, Yeong Seo asked Joo Ran (played by Woo Da Bi), who was confidently cast in the lead role, “Have you found your own Geumsulagi? Do you think you can portray it perfectly?” Joo Ran responded, “Perfect? Not at all. I’m not ready yet, which is why I wanted to practice with you.”

Yeong Seo asked, “Aren’t you anxious about not knowing how you’ll portray your character?” Joo Ran admitted, “I am anxious but also excited. This is my chance to find my own Guseul Agi that no one has portrayed before.”

Joo Ran added thoughtfully, “You’re different from me, Yeong Seo. You’re a perfectionist. I understand how you can’t show yourself to others until you feel fully prepared. So, I’ll wait for you until you’re ready.”

In response, Yeong Seo took Joo Ran’s hand and said, “Let’s practice together starting tomorrow.” Jeong Nyeon celebrated as if it were her own success.

She also expressed her concerns: “I’m worried because Yeong Seo tends to lead things her own way and doesn’t always sync with her partner.” Joo Ran reassured her, saying, “I can adapt. That scene is crucial for Gomi Gul to shine and for the whole production to succeed.” Jeong Nyeon smiled and replied, “That’s impressive. It’s your first major role, yet you’re focused on making your partner shine.”

On that day, Jeong Nyeon learned from Do Aeng (played by Lee Se Young) that hard work alone cannot overcome natural talent in the world of artistry.

Before stepping into her role as a soldier, Jeong Nyeon surprised Joo Ran by appearing in a male student uniform. She explained, “I didn’t think just practicing the script at home would be enough. I wanted to go out and learn properly.” Joo Ran encouraged her, saying, “The foundation of acting is confidence. From now on, you’re a male high school student.” With that, Jeong Nyeon ventured into the streets, pretending to be a male student to gain experience.

As the Jamyeonggo performance began, Yeong Seo and Joo Ran received praise for their immersive portrayals. In contrast, Jeong Nyeon, playing the soldier, faced criticism from So Bok (played by Ra Mi Ran) for overacting. Ignoring the feedback, she went off-script with her own ad-libs, ultimately ruining the performance. This decision raises questions about the consequences of Jeong Nyeon’s actions, adding further intrigue to the unfolding story of Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born.
