SEVENTEEN member Seungkwan has voiced his concerns about his agency. On Tuesday, he shared a heartfelt message: “I no longer want to see people hurting each other.”

Reflecting on past events, Seungkwan admitted, “I used to think, ‘This will pass.’ But now, I feel that I can no longer remain silent for the sake of my loved ones, my fans, my fellow members, and all my colleagues who are working hard right now. I can’t just sit back and hope the situation resolves itself.”

He expressed his intentions, saying, “I just wanted to do my best and take responsibility for my role, to repay the love from my fans, and to share the positive energy in various ways.” He also confessed, “The pressure, the weight on my shoulders, and the fatigue—both physical and mental—are beyond what I can put into words.”

Addressing the celebrities mentioned in the so-called HYBE document, he remarked, “The colleagues and friends I know are genuinely passionate about their work. They care so deeply that they sometimes get hurt, and their love can lead to feelings of emptiness. Yet, they continue to give and receive love for themselves, their members, their families, and their fans every day.”

Seungkwan emphasized, “We are not individuals who have risen and fallen easily or engaged in activities without effort. I hope you won’t underestimate idols,” adding, “Not just for us, but for all artists, we are not commodities to be used and enjoyed at will.”

Wishing his colleagues to remain healthy and thriving, he stated, “I detest watching someone break down and ultimately give up. I sincerely hope people will stop inflicting wounds for which they can’t take responsibility.”

The HYBE document mentioned by Seungkwan was partially revealed during a recent audit by South Korea’s National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee on October 24. HYBE has reportedly compiled various public opinions about idol groups into a document labeled as an industry trend review. This document is said to contain unverified rumors, including comments about appearances.

In response to the controversy, HYBE clarified, “The monitoring report is a document that compiles various reactions and opinions from fandoms and the industry. It does not represent HYBE’s official stance.”
