Rapper Yang Hong Won has drawn attention for his comments on Yoon Byung Ho (Bully Da Bastard), a former contestant from the South Korean show High School Rapper 2, who has recently found himself in legal trouble related to drug use. On Thursday, Yang shared a photo on his social media with the caption, “Cause now I’m still living in the SEOUL.”
The photo highlighted reports about Yoon allegedly using drugs while in a detention center during his trial. Yang responded, “Yeah, if you’re going to do it, go all the way. Stand tall. Don’t be discouraged. My little bro Yoon Byung Ho, you f***ing idiot.”
Yoon was sentenced to seven years in prison in December 2023 after being charged with purchasing, possessing, smoking, and using various drugs, including marijuana, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, between 2018 and 2022. In 2022, he faced additional charges for using psychotropic substances, including diazepam, lorazepam, and zolpidem, through unknown means while at Incheon Detention Center. Yoon claimed it was a spiking incident in which someone secretly administered drugs to him, but the court dismissed his defense.
Judge Jeong Jae Wook of the Suwon District Court’s Criminal Division 4 sentenced Yoon Byung Ho to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, along with 40 hours of drug offense prevention lectures for violating the Narcotics Control Act on September 25.
Meanwhile, Yang Hong Won rose to fame after winning Mnet’s High School Rapper in 2017. He competed on Show Me the Money 8 in 2019 and finished as the runner-up. In May, he released his full-length album, SLOWMO.
