It has been six years since the tragic passing of Kim Woo Young, a model and tattoo artist who died at just 26 years old.
On November 5, 2018, Kim Woo Young’s life was cut short in a motorcycle accident on Mapo Bridge in Seoul. After the crash, he was rushed to Sinchon Severance Hospital, where emergency attempts, including CPR, were made to save him. Unfortunately, Kim Woo Young succumbed to his injuries. There were no other casualties in the accident.
The news of Kim Woo Young’s death quickly spread online, where his fans and loved ones shared their shock and sorrow. Supreme Boi, a close friend of Kim Woo Young and a well-known rapper and songwriter, posted a heartfelt tribute to him, saying, “My dear brother and friend, Kim Woo Young, left us due to an accident on November 5. He always cherished spending time with people, so we’d be grateful if those who knew him could join us in remembering him.”
Kim Woo Young first gained public attention in 2017 when he appeared in the music video for “Change,” a collaboration between BTS’s RM and American rapper Wale. Although his screen time was brief—lasting just eight seconds in the nearly five-minute video— his distinctive charisma left a lasting impression on viewers.
In addition to his modeling career, Kim Woo Young became known as a full-body tattoo model, with tattoos covering his entire body, including his face. He was an active figure in the fashion scene until his untimely passing and even walked the runway during the 2019 S/S Hera Seoul Fashion Week.
Though six years have passed since his death, tributes to Kim Woo Young continue to pour in.
