Singer Lee Sang Soon recently shared his love for vintage items and opened up about his move from Jeju Island to a new home in Pyeongchang, Seoul. The star also took a moment to reflect on some interesting trends and valuable lessons learned in his career as a DJ.

On Wednesday, Lee Sang Soon took over the airwaves as a DJ on MBC FM4U’s A Perfect Day with Lee Sang Soon, where he connected with listeners and shared his thoughts on the latest trends.

During the show, Lee Sang Soon delved into the rising interest in vintage items among younger generations, particularly Gen Z and millennials. “Euljiro, now called Hipjiro by the younger crowd, has a fascinating history that dates back to 1403,” Lee Sang Soon explained. “It was once the heart of Korea’s printing industry. When I was growing up, anything old was considered outdated. But now, seeing young people seek out vintage items? That’s become the definition of cool.”

Reflecting on his own life changes, Lee revealed that after spending 11 years living on Jeju Island, he recently moved to a new home in Pyeongchang, valued at 6 million won (approximately $4.28 million). “When I moved, I went out of my way to hunt for vintage furniture. It’s amazing how many young people are into finding unique, older pieces these days. I’ve even seen tons of YouTube videos where people show off their vintage home decor.”

Lee Sang Soon also had a little fun sharing his thoughts on vintage musical instruments, admitting with a laugh, “They’re not cheap! As more people are getting into them, the prices are rising. I’ll admit, I’ve got a few instruments that have really increased in value, and that’s a pretty satisfying feeling.”

In one memorable moment, a listener confessed that they had been holding onto a borrowed Kim Kwang Jin cassette tape for 20 years, unsure whether to apologize or thank their friend when returning it. With humor and encouragement, Lee responded, “Your friend might be thrilled to get that tape back. Who knows? It could be worth a lot more now!”

Finally, Lee Sang Soon shared some wisdom from his mentor, veteran singer and DJ Bae Cheol Soo. He recalled a recent conversation in which Bae gave him some valuable advice: “When you don’t have much to say, just play good music.” Lee Sang Soon smiled and added, “It was a lightbulb moment for me. Sometimes, silence can be just as important as talking—it’s all part of being a DJ.”
