Adding to the mystery, Areum deleted all the photos from her account, leaving fans confused and eager for answers.
Areum has been at the center of multiple controversies in recent months. The decade-old bullying scandal involving her former T-ara group mate Hwayoung has resurfaced, reigniting public interest. The revival of the scandal also brought renewed attention to alleged threatening messages sent by Hwayoung’s sister, Hyoyoung, including ominous warnings like “I’ll scratch your face so you can’t appear on TV.”
In addition to these ongoing issues, Areum has recently faced speculation about a possible miscarriage. Shortly after giving birth to her third child, she announced she was pregnant with her fourth. Addressing the rumors surrounding her pregnancy, Areum shared a photo of her daughter and expressed her frustration: “People have made wild assumptions, claiming I got rid of the baby or had an abortion. It’s infuriating that my child, who deserves nothing but love, has to be subjected to such cruel speculation.” She added, “Please refrain from making careless comments about children who deserve only love and support.”
Areum joined T-ara as a new member in 2012, making her debut with the group’s mini-album Day by Day. She remained with the group for only about a month before announcing her departure a year later. Rumors circulated that mental health issues may have been the reason for her exit, but these claims were never substantiated.
Currently, Areum is facing legal troubles. She has been accused of borrowing approximately 37 million won (around $26,500) from three acquaintances, including a fan, and failing to repay the debt. Following the fraud allegations, reports indicated that Areum had broken up with her boyfriend, but more recent updates suggest the couple has since reconciled.
