TV personality Hong Seok Cheon has revealed that he’s become a target of impersonation and is urging fans to stay vigilant. On Monday, Hong Seok Cheon took to social media with a lengthy post, expressing his frustration: “Now they’ve even stooped to pretending to be my manager and sending messages in English.”

Hong Seok Cheon emphasized, “I don’t have any other accounts—this is the only one I use. I hope no one falls victim to these fake profiles.” He advised, “If anyone who’s taken a photo with me or follows me claims to be a close friend and asks for money or offers a business deal, please double-check with me through direct message (DM).”

Hong Seok Cheon wrapped up his message: “I take hundreds of photos with fans every day, but that doesn’t mean we’re all close friends. I sincerely hope no one gets scammed.”

To underscore his warning, Hong Seok Cheon shared screenshots of the impersonation accounts, reiterating, “Watch out for these fakes. They’re all imposters.”

As celebrities become more active on social media, the entertainment industry faces an increasing battle against impersonation. This comes after an October incident in which a scammer posed as celebrity chef and TV personality Paik Jong Won. Similarly, BLACKPINK’s Jennie has recently announced plans to take legal action against unauthorized publications and fake news, including one involving an impersonator claiming to be her father.
