Actress Chae Soo Bin recently appeared on the South Korean variety show Whenever Possible, sharing a glimpse into her introverted personality and revealing a surprising hobby.
Chae Soo Bin joined the cast for a palace tour during the episode, and her appearance was met with particular enthusiasm from actor Yoo Yeon Seok. This excitement isn’t surprising, considering the two stars are set to work together in the upcoming MBC drama When the Phone Rings, which premieres this Friday.
During the show, Chae Soo Bin opened up about her variety show phobia, admitting, “I was really nervous about appearing today. Variety shows are challenging for me, and I’m quite shy.” When asked if she felt uncomfortable, she responded honestly, “I’m not entirely at ease.”
As the group toured the palace, Yoo Yeon Seok’s energetic hosting style caught Chae Soo Bin’s attention. She laughed and remarked, “He’s so different from his drama persona!” Yoo Yeon Seok, known for his role as the cool, collected leading man, jokingly replied, “In dramas, I style my hair up, wear suits, and play the cold, handsome guy.”
The show also highlighted Chae Soo Bin’s history in historical dramas. One of the hosts, Yoo Jae Suk, commented, “You look just like a queen,” referencing her past roles in period pieces like Rebel and Love in the Moonlight.
Chae Soo Bin reminisced about her roles, explaining, “In ‘Love in the Moonlight,’ I played a crown princess, and in Rebel, I was a commoner following Hong Gil Dong. Playing a commoner was especially cold because of the costume.”
In addition to sharing her thoughts on acting, Chae Soo Bin revealed her quirky and unexpected hobby: simply lying down. She shared, “My hobby is lying down, eating cereal, and recharging my energy. It’s so relaxing that I end up lying down right after eating.”
Yoo Jae Suk, noticing her relaxed demeanor, joked, “Now that you mention it, you kind of resemble the sloth from ‘Zootopia.'”
