In a recent poll conducted by the global fandom platform UPICK, from December 5 to 20, Byeon Woo Seok emerged as the top winner among domestic actors in the Hot Character Awards.

Facing stiff competition from notable stars like Lee Seung Gi, Song Kang, and Cha Eun Woo, Byeon Woo Seok secured first place with a total of 30,708,568 votes. This win marks an impressive milestone for the actor, as he has held the top spot in the Hot Character Awards for six consecutive months from June to November, setting a remarkable record.

Alongside Byeon Woo Seok, other notable figures balancing successful acting careers and global fame, such as BTS’s V, Kim Soo Hyun, TWICE’s Dahyun, and Ahn Hyo Seop, also ranked highly. As a reward for his victory, Byeon Woo Seok will have his advertisement featured on a large digital screen at Hongdae Airport Railroad, with the ad designed by his fans.

Byeon Woo Seok’s rise to fame, often called the Byeon Woo Seok Syndrome, was sparked by his standout role in the tvN drama Lovely Runner earlier this year. Following that success, he recently wrapped up a successful fan meeting tour across Asia and has been making waves in the advertising world. He is considering numerous offers for upcoming films and TV projects.
