Actress Jung Yu Mi recently opened up about her experiences with her first love during an appearance on the YouTube channel Fullmoon.

In the interview, producer Na Young Seok asked Jung an intriguing question: “What would you do if you reunited with your first love from high school, just like in a drama?” This question seemed especially relevant, as Jung currently stars in the popular tvN drama Love Your Enemy, where her character reconnects with her first love after a heart-wrenching breakup that has lingered for 18 years.

Jung Yu Mi shared how her perspective on love and breakups has shifted. “I was asked a similar question about ten years ago,” she laughed. “Back then, I jokingly said I’d want to flick him on the forehead out of annoyance.” However, her feelings have evolved. “Now, I hope he’s doing well after all these years. At this point, he’s probably married by now.” Na Young Seok added his thoughts, suggesting that over time, painful memories fade while the good ones tend to remain.

Jung Yu Mi also shared a candid moment from her first relationship, revealing her unexpected vulnerability during that time. “I’m not sure if I should share this, but when my first boyfriend and I broke up, I learned something about myself I didn’t know before,” she admitted. “I thought I’d be a bit wild in those situations, but instead, I found myself in tears, clinging to him, begging, ‘Don’t hang up, don’t hang up.’ When the call ended, I just cried, exhausted.”

In a surprising twist, Jung revealed that her next role after this experience was in the movie Blossom Again. “I guess the emotional turmoil was written all over my face,” she mused. “The character I played was also someone struggling with the aftermath of first love.” Producer Na Young Seok humorously remarked, “Looks like you didn’t need to act much for that role.” Jung Yu Mi laughed, admitting, “I didn’t realize I had that vulnerable side to me.”
