On Saturday, actress Han Ji Min teamed up with fellow actors Zo In Sung, Chun Woo Hee, and writer Noh Hee Kyung for their annual Love Coal Sharing volunteer event. Organized by Gilbut, a volunteer organization for professionals in broadcasting, film, and theater, in collaboration with the international relief group Korean JTS, the initiative aimed to provide coal to residents of Guryong Village in the Gangnam district of Seoul. The village’s residents face difficulties with heating during the cold winter months, and the volunteers sought to offer them some warmth.

A total of 145 volunteers, including Han Ji Min, spent the day delivering coal, moving it from hand to hand. They successfully donated and distributed 3,600 briquettes to 15 households in need. The participating celebrities shared their hopes that their small gesture would help the recipients have a warmer, cozier winter.

Noh Hee Kyung reflected on the day, saying, “I’m grateful that we can come together to make a difference. The act of sharing warmth through coal is especially moving. I’ll always remember the feelings I experienced today.” She also expressed her intention to continue supporting this cause in the future.

Gilbut’s year-end briquette-sharing event, which began in 2021, marks its fourth year this winter. In addition to this initiative, Gilbut has been organizing a fundraising campaign every year since 2004 on Children’s Day in the popular Myeongdong district of Seoul. The campaign raises funds for children in need worldwide through the Korean JTS International Relief Organization.

Han Ji Min’s consistent commitment to philanthropy has also garnered attention. While studying at Seoul Women’s University, Han Ji Min aspired to become a social worker. In a past interview, she shared, “Growing up, I saw my grandmother’s kindness as she helped those around her, and it naturally inspired me to help others. I’m deeply moved by their warm hearts whenever I meet volunteers, which motivates me to give back. The greatest joy I feel when volunteering is knowing that I’m making a meaningful difference and using my life in a valuable way.”

In other news, Han Ji Min is currently in a public relationship with Choi Jung Hoon, the 10-year-old lead vocalist of the popular South Korean band Jannabi. The couple reportedly began their relationship after meeting for the first time in August 2023 on KBS 2TV’s The Seasons—Choi Jung Hoon’s Night Park.
