aespa’s Winter has strongly denied rumors of dating ENHYPEN’s Jungwon, dismissing the claims as malicious gossip.

On Wednesday, SM Entertainment told TV Report that the person who spread the photos had first reached out to a media outlet for financial gain, attempting to make direct contact with the company. When the outlet refused to engage with the monetary-driven tip, the individual leaked the photos maliciously. SM Entertainment vowed to take legal action against the person involved.

Belift Lab, the agency representing ENHYPEN, also shut down the dating rumors, stating, “These claims are completely baseless. We will take strict action against anyone who invades our artist’s privacy or spreads false information.”

The rumors first emerged online through a post tagging Winter and Jungwon, accompanied by several photos. The post’s caption read, “It would be nice since they’ll have many joint schedules with year-end events coming up.” The images featured a woman wearing a hat and mask and a man wearing a hat, hoodie, and mask, obscuring his face.

Some social media users pointed out that the woman’s outfit appeared similar to one Winter had worn in the past, which led to speculation. However, the account that originally posted the images has since been deleted.

The incident has sparked widespread backlash. Many fans expressed disbelief over the person’s attempt to extort money from the media outlet and criticized the use of casual clothing as evidence of a relationship. There was also significant concern about the spread of fake news. “It’s troubling to see dating rumors being spread based on such weak evidence,” many users remarked, reflecting growing frustration with the prevalence of misleading stories in the entertainment industry.
