Hyun Bin’s highly anticipated film Harbin has claimed the top spot in pre-sales just nine days before its official release.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system, the film had surpassed 83,383 pre-sale tickets as of Sunday, securing the number one position in overall pre-booking rates. With such impressive numbers already, the excitement surrounding Harbin is clear.

Set in 1909, Harbin portrays a tense and dramatic pursuit between a group of independence fighters heading to Harbin and those chasing them. The pursuit is driven by mutual distrust and dangerous stakes.

The film has generated significant buzz, surpassing tough competitors like Firefighters and Mufasa: The Lion King, further proving the high anticipation for its release. With pre-sale numbers still climbing, Harbin is expected to surpass 100,000 pre-sale tickets by the end of this week, heightening excitement and drawing attention to how the film will perform during its theatrical run.

Harbin has been generating major buzz among moviegoers thanks to its stunning global locations and director Woo Min Ho’s distinctive approach to telling the story of Korean independence fighters. The film’s gripping narrative and sweeping scope promise a thrilling cinematic experience.

The star-studded cast includes Hyun Bin, Park Jeong Min, Jo Woo Jin, Jeon Yeo Been, Park Hoon, Yoo Jae Myung, Lily Franky, and Lee Dong Wook. Each brings a powerful performance to portray the perilous journey to Harbin. As the film’s pre-sale numbers continue to climb, projections suggest it could easily surpass 100,000 tickets sold this week.

Directed by Woo Min Ho, Harbin is the latest collaboration between the director and Hive Media Corp., the production company behind all of Woo’s films since Inside Men. The talented crew behind hits like 12.12: The Day and Deliver Us from Evil has also contributed to the making of Harbin, further adding to the film’s anticipation.

With one of the most star-studded casts of the year and the promise of a gripping story, Harbin has become one of the most highly anticipated films of the winter season. It will be released in theaters on December 24.
