Jeon So Yeon, leader of (G)I-DLE, recently discussed her thoughts on marriage and shared details about her ideal partner. On Wednesday, during an episode of the web series Yongtarot, comedian Lee Yong Jin conducted a tarot reading for the idol.
During the session, Jeon So Yeon asked about her prospects for marriage. When Lee Yong Jin pointed out that it seemed like she had marriage on her mind, Jeon So Yeon shared, “While I love my career, I’d like to settle down and have a family when the time is right.” Lee Yong Jin interpreted the tarot cards and told her, “Marriage is possible, but timing is key. It might be difficult before 35, but likely before you turn 40.”
Lee Yong Jin also noted Jeon So Yeon’s clear interest in starting a family: “You seem really focused on marriage and having children.” Jeon So Yeon responded, “As much as I love what I do, having a family is something I want when the time comes.”
When asked about her ideal partner, Jeon So Yeon explained that she’s looking for someone who is “not overly ambitious, but content with life and who values happiness.” She described her ideal type as “a simple, down-to-earth person—someone who’s ordinary and likable, someone anyone would approve of.” She clarified that by not ambitious, she meant someone who avoids chasing quick profits, such as through investments or passive income.
When Lee Yong Jin asked Jeon So Yeon to name the most impressive guest she’d met on Yongtarot, Jeon So Yeon responded, “Everyone I’ve met is so impressive, it’s hard to pick just one.” She declined to choose a favorite guest. When Lee jokingly asked, “Does the person need to be able to make money?” Jeon So Yeon replied, “They don’t need money at all.”
Jeon So Yeon also revealed that she would love to collaborate with K-pop icons G-Dragon from BIGBANG and Zico in the future, expressing admiration for both artists.
In addition to her musical career, Jeon So Yeon made headlines earlier this year when she appeared on the web variety show Country Kitchen Dream in July. She shared that her earnings from songwriting alone can reach up to 1 billion won (roughly $689,000) per month.
