Actor Hyun Bin recently shared that his son resembles his wife, actress Son Ye Jin, more than him. The revelation came during his guest appearance on the popular South Korean variety show You Quiz on the Block, aired on Wednesday.

The conversation started with host Yoo Jae Suk mentioning that he and Hyun Bin attend the same gym, though this was their first filming. Yoo Jae Suk then turned to Hyun Bin’s friendship with co-host Jo Se Ho, asking, “Are you two close friends?” Jo Se Ho explained, “We’re friends, but we don’t hang out much outside work.” When Hyun Bin entered the studio, Yoo Jae Suk greeted him warmly, noting that he looked very different from how he appeared at the gym.

Yoo Jae Suk also pointed out that this was Hyun Bin’s first talk show appearance in 13 years, to which the actor responded, “I didn’t even realize that until I saw it in the news. This is my first talk show appearance since Secret Garden ended.” Hyun Bin then admitted feeling a little uneasy, saying, “I’m not used to talking about myself in front of so many cameras. Can I leave now?” He had earlier confessed to feeling nervous about opening up on the show.

Yoo Jae Suk also asked about Hyun Bin’s wife, Son Ye Jin, who had appeared on You Quiz on the Block earlier. “How’s Ye Jin doing? She was on the show before—did she say anything about it?” Yoo Jae Suk inquired. Hyun Bin smiled and replied, “She’s doing well. She said there would be more cameras than we expected, but it was a great episode.”

Hyun Bin opened up about his personal life, sharing that he spends much time with his son. I work out and spend much time with my child,” he said. I always try to adjust my schedule to his.” He added that he was a bit worried that day, explaining, “I had to come to the recording, but my child has a fever, so I’m concerned.”

When Jo Se Ho asked about fatherhood, Hyun Bin responded enthusiastically, giving a thumbs-up. “It’s indescribable,” he said. “He just turned two recently, and every day with him is amazing.”

Hyun Bin asked which parent his son resembled more, saying, “I think he looks more like his mom.” He explained, “My wife hopes he looks like her, and I hope he looks like me. It’s not for any specific reason—it’s just that he’s a boy. I have sharper features, while my wife’s features are softer and rounder.”

Hyun Bin also discussed his experience filming Harbin in the Khövsgöl region of Mongolia and Latvia. In Khövsgöl, all the lakes were frozen. It wasn’t the cold that made it challenging, but rather the isolation. Being in such an isolated environment actually helped me get into character.”

Reflecting on his feelings about the release of his upcoming film, Hyun Bin said, “It feels a lot like being in front of the camera right now. I’m nervous and a bit worried. We’ve put much effort into conveying our sincerity and gratitude to the audience.” He added, “As far as I know, we used the best camera available today—the same one used for ‘Dune.'”
