A man who filmed and stored multiple scenes of his girlfriend naked and engaged in sexual activities has been sentenced to imprisonment.
According to legal sources, on the 4th, the Uijeongbu District Court, Criminal Division 2 (Judge Kang Wan Soo) sentenced Mr. A, a man in his 40s who was charged with violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (using a camera for filming), to 8 months in prison. He was also ordered to undergo 40 hours of sexual violence therapy program and a 3-year employment ban from child and adolescent-related institutions and disabled-related institutions.
Mr. A was indicted for filming sexual activities without his girlfriend’s consent, Ms. B, by installing a camera next to the bed in his apartment in Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province, for about 4 months from May last year.
He is also accused of secretly taking 31 photos of Ms. B in her underwear at the same location from October 2021 to July last year.
Mr. A’s crime was discovered when Ms. B became suspicious and investigated.
The court stated, “The number of crimes is quite high, and there has been no forgiveness or agreement from the victim. The victim is requesting severe punishment for the defendant.” The court also mentioned, “Considering that the defendant has admitted to the crimes and shown remorse, as well as depositing 15 million won as criminal compensation, the court took these factors into account when determining the sentence.”
Meanwhile, the court decided not to detain Mr. A, as it deemed it appropriate to provide him with the opportunity for reconciliation or additional victim restitution.
