San Francisco’s ‘six-figure salary’
The new job ‘Poop Patrol’
The job of cleaning up human waste on the streets
San Francisco, known for its outstanding scenery, is a famously beautiful city in the United States.
However, San Francisco is currently struggling with human feces. As a result, many tourists who visit San Francisco with high expectations for their West Coast trip are left in shock and disappointment.
The streets of San Francisco are overwhelmed by the human waste of over 8,000 homeless individuals.
This is due to the affluent residents of Silicon Valley buying up homes in San Francisco, causing housing prices to more than double in the past five years, which has pushed the city’s low-income residents onto the streets and increased the homeless population.
As a result, San Francisco has seen the rise of a bizarre new job.
It is the ‘Poop Patrol’. The official members of the ‘poop patrol’ clean up human waste from the streets from 7 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. every day.
The city authorities have created a ‘poop map’ that marks the locations where feces have been found in the city due to the street poop crisis, and the patrol members use this map to collect the waste.
Despite the efforts of the poop patrol, the ‘poop map’ covers the entire city of San Francisco, and residents are complaining, saying “The streets are like toilet bowls,” “Urine and feces are everywhere,” and “It’s not fit for people to live here.”
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the annual salary of the poop patrol members, who have the extreme job of cleaning up human waste, exceeds 100 million KRW (approximately $85,000), which has become a hot topic.
