Rising performance after changing positions.
Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min has won the English Premier League (EPL) Player of the Month for September.
The EPL office announced on the 13th (local time), “Son Heung-Min has been selected as the Player of the Month for September. This is his fourth time winning this honor.”
Son Heung-Min beat out competitors such as Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Julian Alvarez (Manchester City), Jarrod Bowen (West Ham), Kieran Trippier (Newcastle), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), and Pedro Neto (Wolverhampton) to win the award.
He has risen since changing from a left-side attacker to a center forward at the beginning of the EPL season.
He scored an impressive six goals in four EPL matches, ranking second in the scoring rankings. No player scored more goals than him in the EPL in September—Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, who is leading the scoring with eight goals, recorded five goals.
Thanks to his performance, Tottenham, which achieved three wins and one draw in September alone, is leading the EPL league undefeated (six wins, two draws).
This is his fourth time winning the EPL Player of the Month award. He previously won the award in September 2016, April 2017, and October 2020.
His team, Tottenham, has produced the Player of the Month for two consecutive months. Last month, it was awarded to vice-captain and midfielder James Maddison.

Meanwhile, before Son Heung-Min, players like Salah, Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, Dennis Bergkamp, Frank Lampard, and Paul Scholes have won the Player of the Month award four times.
