Shocking news has emerged regarding Israel, which is currently at war with Palestine.

According to a report by The Times, a British daily, on May 23 (local time), Yair Netanyahu, the eldest son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is continuing to stay in the United States.

This is in stark contrast to other young Israelis who are returning to their homeland to protect it.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has called up a total of 360,000 reservists since declaring war on Hamas. The first 300,000 were mobilized within 48 hours, and the IDF summoned an additional 60,000 on the tenth day.

CNN reported, “Despite a population of only about 9.7 million, Israel has mobilized a reserve force comparable in size to that of the U.S.,” adding, “With few exceptions, all Israeli citizens over the age of 18 must serve in the reserves.”

Hundreds of Israelis scattered around the world have given up their local lives to return to their home country to participate in the war.

However, Yair Netanyahu, the eldest son of Prime Minister Netanyahu, did not go back to Israel. At 32, he is eligible for reserve service this year.

Yair has never served as a combat soldier and completed his military duty working in the IDF spokesperson’s office.

Yair left for the U.S. after controversy erupted over his social media activities amid the judicial reform crisis of the Netanyahu government, which sparked fierce protests involving hundreds of thousands of people within Israel.

He is currently using Instagram to promote the activities of a non-governmental organization supporting war victims and 120,000 Israeli refugees.

One Israeli soldier complained, “While I’m on the front lines, Yair is enjoying life on Miami Beach.”

On the 22nd, activists from the Korean civil society emergency action and Arabs including Palestinians are holding a rally near the Israeli Embassy in Jongno-gu, Seoul, calling for Israel to stop the massacre of Palestinians. / News1

One reservist on the northern front of Israel, where clashes with the Lebanese armed faction Hezbollah, backed by Iran, are escalating, said that Yair’s absence from the battle is causing distrust and anger among the soldiers.

He raised his voice, saying, “It is not those responsible for this situation, but we who are leaving our workplaces, families, and children to protect our families in our homeland. Our brothers, fathers, and sons are all going to the front lines, but Yair is still not here. This does not help build trust in the leadership of this country.”
