Kia Carnival Facelift
Exterior design first revealed
‘Gravity’ trim added
The popular family car model, Carnival, has finally undergone a facelift. Kia revealed the exterior design of ‘The New Carnival’ on the 27th. The interior design is still under wraps, but it is speculated that the exterior design was revealed ahead of schedule due to the leak of the new Carnival commercial shoot on the 22nd.
This new car is a partially changed model that enhances the product power of the 4th generation Carnival launched in August 2020 and is presented three years later. The design-centric trim ‘Gravity’, which was not available before, has been added, and the launch of the hybrid model has been officially announced.

Looks closer to an SUV
Improved ratio by extending the bonnet
The new Carnival has been redesigned to look closer to an SUV than the previous RV. The front end, grill, and front bumper have changed to a near-vertical arrangement, making the front longer and giving the impression that the body has grown. The headlamps have changed to a vertical arrangement, and the ‘G’-shaped signature Starmap lighting daytime running lights (DRL) emphasize the connection with the grill.
The front bumper combines a refined design and a sleekly trimmed lower skid plate to enhance the design’s completeness. The vertical headlamps and rear combination lamps harmoniously follow the character line, creating a sense of balance. Kia’s recently pushed square pattern new wheel adds uniqueness.
Simplified rear
All the disappointing points have been resolved
The rear also applies signature Starmap lighting, making the vehicle width look wider. The roof spoiler has been curved to break away from the previous monotony, and a camera for the digital center mirror is installed in the center. The tailgate has been simplified by reducing the curves. They moved the exposed handle to the top of the license plate, creating a clean image, which was a disappointing point in the previous model.
The matte silver garnish at the bottom gives a sturdy impression by increasing the left and right areas, and the rear direction indicators, which used to be under the bumper, have finally moved to the rear combination lamp. The exterior colors of the new Carnival are operated in 6 types, including the new Ivory Silver, Snow White Pearl, Astra Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Pantera Metal, and Ceramic Silver.
What is the Gravity Trim Feature?
Pre-order in November
This new car has added a design-centric trim ‘Gravity’, which was not available before. The trim, which was first set up in SUV models such as Seltos, Sportage, and Sorento, is characterized by a more robust exclusive exterior design. Carnival Gravity has the roof rack, C pillar, tailgate, door garnish, and front/rear skid plates painted in a dark metallic color. The radiator grill and wheels also change to a unique design, clearly differentiating from the standard type.
Meanwhile, Kia announced that it will add a hybrid specification based on a 1.6L gasoline turbo engine to the new Carnival. The existing gasoline and diesel will also be maintained, planning to operate a total of 3 powertrain lineups. Kia announced that it will enter the pre-order for the new Carnival in the middle of next month and reveal detailed information and prices.
